There was a time, long ago, when children were free-range and their parents only let them in for food. This was the time in which one Robert was born.

With a great love for all things academic, Robert craved work in maths, music, PE, technical drawing, woodwork, metalwork, and art. When not working at school he could be found in one of the various clubs his school had to offer; notably the music band, chess club, basketball club, and art club. Unable to make many close friends but never without company, the only problem Robert can recall having at school was his PE teacher mandating 3 mile road-runs.

Graduating with 8 CSEs and excelling in artistic subjects, he went on to train as a jeweller. Putting all of the skills he gathered to the test, Robert spent 6 years making a living by hand crafting and designing all kinds of jewellery and brooches. This was until a promising career was ended by the development of an allergy to gold solder.

Determined to pick himself up and care for his family, Robert joined BT and risked everyday to climb the telephone poles and repair the lines. After proving his worth and becoming a Network Protection Officer, a passion was born. Robert dedicated the rest of his career to climb the ranks in BT and protect the nation's telecommunications.

When not working Robert completed as many DIY projects around his house as he could whilst caring for his son and got plenty of alone time trying his hand at golf and shooting firearms. On the odd occasion he could be spotted attempting to water ski.

At the height of his career, Robert realised his dream and became the National Network Control Manager for England, Scotland, and Wales. After years of service, he suffered a decline in health and had to be medically retired following a stroke.

It was at this point that he decided to slow down and explore his life’s other interests further. When not caring for his wife and son, Robert is focused on: his health, his dog, and his ability to “potter around the garden.”
